At the recent Apolitical Day 2025 National Strategy Project (NSP) co-founders Catherine Day & Matthew Rycroft took to the stage with an exciting announcement – the creation of the Institute for our Nation.

A world-first initiative at national scale in partnership with a world-class team of experts from Stanford University and UK partners, it aims to involve millions of people from every part of the UK and every walk of life – thinking and acting together on the choices that will define our shared future.

Across opportunities and challenges such as technology, climate, ageing and migration, the key to a secure, prosperous and healthy future lies in giving everyone agency over the big choices that affect us all. That’s how we can harness the extraordinary strengths of our society – and it’s not something our current systems can achieve alone.

That’s why the Institute for our Nation is being created: an independent, non-partisan UK body dedicated to securing the long-term common good and giving this work a lasting home. This isn’t something that can be done for the country or imposed on it – it has to be something we own and shape together.

So whether you’re an individual or an institution in the UK, every offer of funding, skills, time, connections or support – and every idea or piece of feedback – brings this transformative initiative closer to success.
